This assignment consists of analyzing your 7 day nutrient report. This is an in depth culminating project that gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the material covered throughout this course. All nutrients (macros, micros & H2O) should be analyzed, based on the information given
in the course and in the literature. Your analysis should focus on the following:
a) What are the functions of each nutrient?
b) Did you consume enough or too much of each
(deficiencies / excesses)?
c) What are the health benefits of each, as well as the risks to
health if too much or too little are consumed?
d) Did you select good sources of each (fried vs baked,
simple vs complex carbs, saturated vs unsaturated fats,
etc.)?
e) What would be your recommendations/modifications for
optimal health benefits? Give specific examples.
The analysis write-up (part 3) should be typed in paragraph form, 12 font Times New Roman. You will be required to use a minimum of 2 scientific sources. Please ask the online librarian if you are not sure what this means (Live strong and Wikipedia are not scientific sources. Hint: They often get their information from scientific sources, so check the references, usually at the bottom of the articles). You are encouraged to use the textbook, but it is not considered a scientific source. The analysis should be approximately 4-6 pages of text.
